Video Speed on Mac after first pass in Loop

I'm running Splitcam Version 1.14 (154) on a Apple M1 Pro MacBook - when adding a video background and putting the video into loop mode ..after the first run through at normal speed all subsequent run throughs are at like 3X normal speed ...makes the video look bad - am I missing something
