Hi. I just installed SplitCam on my second Mac, a M3 MacBook Air and I'm having some issues.
When I add my Mac's built-in webcam to a Scene and choose the 1920X1080 aspect ratio, the video initially appears fine. But if I add some other scenes and switch back, or quit the app and relaunch it, the camera's video looks zoomed in.
I asked ChatGPT if it knew what was going on and it claimed it's a known bug that may be fixed in a beta version of SplitCam but I wasn't sure if that's true.
I also searched in these forums for MacBook and didn't see anyone else having the same problem.
So please let me know if it's a known bug or ways to fix the behavior.
Hi. I just discovered SplitCam yesterday. I had been using a macOS app called iGlasses which, like SplitCam, creates a virtual camera but iGlasses is no longer being developed. So I was excited to find SplitCam.
I don't need or plan to use SplitCam for live streaming but I plan to use it in video conferencing apps like Zoom and Facetime as well as some web-based video conferencing sites such as doxy.me.
I actually used it with doxy.me today with a friend and it worked great, except for one thing: I was confused about whether I had to horizontally flip my media.
First I created a scene. For its media, I chose my webcam (an external Logitech webcam). The video from the camera was not mirroring me, so I flipped the image.I asked my friend what she saw and she said she saw the video from the webcam in the same orientation as I was seeing it.
I then added two more scenes, each with a video file I selected from my hard drive. And for those scenes/videos, my friend was seeing them backwards from what I was seeing. That is, to me, in SplitCam, the orientation looked normal. To her, on doxy.me, the orientation looked backwards.
Then I created another scene and for its media I chose a still image from my hard drive. And that image looked to have the right orientation to me in SplitCam and also to her in doxy.me.
So maybe I'm confused but does it make sense that she was seeing the same orientation i was seeing for the webcam and still image but not for the videos?
