Virtual Camera Missing After Skype Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The current version of Skype does not load virtual camera devices on macOS 10.14 or macOS 10.15. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.skype.com\/en\/faq\/FA34713\/faq-and-known-issues-with-skype\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skype is aware of the issue<\/a>, and we are hoping that they will fix this soon in an update.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 2 options to work around this issue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"option-1-use-an-old-older-version-of-skype\">1 Use An Older Version of Skype<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Older versions of Skype, such as version 8.59 will still load virtual cameras:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/download.skype.com\/s4l\/download\/mac\/Skype-8.59.0.77.dmg\"><strong>Download Skype 8.59<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open Skype 8.59 directly from its disk image rather than from your Applications folder to prevent Skype from automatically updating to newer version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"option-2-remove-skypes-code-signature\">2 Remove Skype&#8217;s Code Signature<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Removing Skype&#8217;s code signature is another way to re-enable virtual cameras. To do this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1) Close Skype.<br>2) Open the <strong>Terminal<\/strong> app, found in <strong>Applications -> Utilities<\/strong>.<br>3) Copy and paste this command into Terminal and <strong><em>press return<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code>codesign --remove-signature \"\/Applications\/Skype.app\/Contents\/Frameworks\/Skype Helper (Renderer).app\"<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4) Open Skype Again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The current version of Skype does not load virtual camera devices on macOS 10.14 or macOS 10.15.
